We can also repair and fix portable toilets and trailers. You can order additional servicing if required and we can also service toilets throughout your event. If the toilet is on hire from us any maintenance will be carried out during the service so the toilet is always working correctly.

What is a Service

The driver will work from a tanker vehicle and commence vacuuming any waste from the holding tank, then chemical is added to ensure the toilet smell pleasant, is the correct blue colour and to break down the waste in the toilet. After this fresh water is added to the recirculating tank and then inside the toilet is sprayed with disinfectant and jet washed inside and round the outside. Last of all supplies are added such as 2x toilet rolls and any dispensers topped up.

A few things you need to know about servicing

1. The toilet must be accessible to service and within 10 meters of vehicle access, this is because our pipework will only reach 10 meters on standard service vehicles, you can book an articulated tanker if the toilet is between 10 meters to 30 meters away however the cost is significantly more than a normal service and must be booked in advance through our office.

2. On arrival our tanker driver must have clear access to commence work , often drivers are unable to service due to parked vehicles in the way, rubbish or rubble blocking access or road restrictions in place so please remember to site the toilet with this in mind as waiting time can be costly to you and also may result in the driver not being able to service until the following week. Failed services will still be charged.

3. Weekday site servicing is normally done between the hours of 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday , if the site is going to be locked or you put a lock on the toilet then it maybe worth while suppling the driver a key or code or we will not be able to service.

4. Day to day normal cleaning of any toilets on hire is down to the hirer.

5. Do not put down the toilet wet wipes, blue roll, clothing or towels as it blocks our pipes.

6. Toilets should be sited on level ground where possible and try to avoid muddy areas.

Trailer Servicing

Trailer servicing takes longer and normally requires a larger tanker vehicle. On arrival we will vacuum out the waste holding tank of 1,500 litres and clean. We then add fresh chemical and water to the waste tank for the recirculating system. Fresh water is then pumped into the tap supply tank normally around 250 - 300 litres. All urinal pads are changed, square toilet roll topped up and hand wash refilled. Finally the unit is cleaned and mopped out. Any maintenance is completed during the service if required.

Toilet Chemical

The portable toilet chemical we use is a concentrated sanitising fluid specifically used within the industry.

A small dose of the blue chemical is diluted with fresh water in the holding tank.

The chemical we use is Biodegradable, Formaldehyde Free , Non Staining, Foam Free, Economical and gives out a pleasant fragrance.

Adverse Weather Conditions

Snow and Ice

Portable toilets and trailers can freeze in cold conditions when the temperature is below zero, this means we are unable to service however once the temperature rises above zero we will continue to service the toilet as normal. We don't service toilets in snow, this is simply because our vehicles can become stuck.

High Winds

It is the hirers responsibility to secure portable toilets when a weather warning is issued, this can be done by staking the feet to the floor using the holes on the base or putting strap over the roof. If the toilet does blow over put back upright when safe to do so and wash down any blue diluted chemical.

Need Help?

A customer had a problem where they needed a toilet placing on the other side of a river to the road access, the only way across was via a footbridge. A representative from Toilets on the Go had a meeting onsite with the customer and it was decided that 2 members of the service team would come out each week and wheel the toilet over a footbridge further down the road to the service vehicle and then put it back in position, a price was agreed and the customer was pleased with this outcome and the toilet has now been on hire for 3 years.

If you require any help or advise please contact our service team they are always happy to help where possible
